Steve Tieman is a member of the SMI Project Management Office and the lead for technology integration across the SMI application and infrastructure landscapes.
The Strategic Modernization Initiative (SMI) is a major initiative for the Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) to extend common business processes throughout the ELC supply chain. The SMI business processes are underpinned by a global implementation of SAP.
ELC is a global leader in skincare, makeup, fragrance, and hair care products with sales of over $6 Billion that markets approximately 25,000 SKUs in over 130 countries. The ELC family includes twenty-four brands and currently introduces 20 SKUs to the marketplace each working day.
Steve has worked for ELC for fifteen years. Prior to his SMI assignment, he managed the IT organization supporting Product Lifecycle Management. Steve led a collaboration of all the organizations involved with concept to opportunity to develop a global process that enabled a 30% improvement in speed to market and one of the lowest cost of goods in prestige cosmetics.
Steve worked for Johnson & Johnson for fifteen years in engineering and IT positions prior to joining ELC.
