Abstract:

Smart Services Cooperative Research Centre - Digital Services Revolution - its impact in 7 years"

The Smart Services Cooperative Research Centre (CRC-SS) will be established late 2007. This 7 year research programme will explore how to deliver an exciting new generation of online and mobile services in the areas of media, finance and government. The research will be conducted at QUT in collaboration with other universities and industry partners, including Fairfax (media), Westpac (finance) and the Qld and NSW governments. IT industry partners such as SAP will be involved in turning the research ideas into commercial reality.

This session will overview the CRC's research programme, followed by a panel session of key academic and industry people on their vision of online and mobile services in the future. There will be opportunities for questions and comments from the audience.
