Brisbane is a huge city but there are many forms of transportation available - the translink network, taxi, or bicycle. If you feel like walking, everything you need is within walking distance. AirportBy TaxiIf you want to get a taxi between the Brisbane Airport and the Brisbane CBD it will cost around $30. You can get a fare estimate from either Black and White Cabs or Yellow Cabs on their respective websites. By TrainOne of the stations available on Brisbane's train network is the Brisbane Airport. The Airtrain runs every 15 minutes from the city and will get you to the airport in 20 minutes. TransLinkTransLink provides a single public transport network covering south-east Queensland. Just one TransLink ticket will allow you to ride any bus, train, or ferry that is within the TransLink network. TransLink has divided south-east Queensland into 23 zones. The Brisbane CBD is zone 1. To download a map of the zones, click here (PDF, 312Kb). The cost of a ticket will relate to how many zones you are travelling through. Below you will find a table of prices for an adult ticket. Please note that student cards from universities outside of Queensland will NOT entitle you to a concession rate. BusThere are many buses that run in and around Brisbane. For example, there is a free bus loop service that circles the Brisbane CBD. For more information on buses, go the TransLink's Bus Services section. FerryYou may want to get to your destination by cruising on the Brisbane river on a ferry. There are generally two types of ferries available in Brisbane - CityCat and CityFerry. CityCats are twin-hulled catamarans that glide across the water. CityFerries are generally smaller boats and make more stops than CityCats. Queensland Rail's CityTrain network includes 145 stations that cover south-east Queensland. TaxiThere are two taxi companies that operate in Brisbane and the surrounding areas - Black and White Cabs and Yellow Cabs. Taxi ranks are located near most major hotels. There are over 500 kilometres of dedicated bikeways in Brisbane plus there are bike friendly trains and ferries. If you wish to hire cycling equipment, you can use Valet Cycle Hire & Tours. They deliver to your Hotel or you can collect from their bicycle station at The City Botantic Gardens, next to the Gardens Point Campus.
